Before Queen Elizabeth I was queen, she was imprisoned on suspicion of starting Wyatt’s Rebellion, an uprising against Queen Mary I. The Queen also tried to help the poor by administering the Elizabethan Poor Law in 1601. She was also fluent in French, Italian and Latin. She is also known to have spoken Spanish, Welsh, Irish, Flemish and Greek.
