The Girl Scouts are well-known for being more inclusive than the Boy Scouts. From the very beginning, girls of every ethnicity could join and from the 1930s they published their resources in Braille. In 1956, Martin Luther King Jr. called the Girl Scouts ‘a force for desegregation’.
