The Christmas of 1914 was a particularly special one for the soldiers fighting in World War I in 1914, when a truce was in fact held by Germany and England. Both sides exchanged gifts, decorated their shelters, and even played a football game between one another. It must have been incredibly difficult to be away from home, but at least some humanity was shown.
