Politically, socially and culturally the 1960s were propably the most eventful decade of the 20th century. Teenagers gained confidence, formed student movements and demanded sexual self-determination. They unmasked society’s double standards and challenged the authority of the Church, the government and their parents. It was the origin of the "Flower Power" movement – fashion-wise, the so-called Hippies expressed themselves with bright colours, flares and long hair – Power to the People!
