Daria is actually a spin-off from the popular series ‘Beavis and Butthead’. In that show, Daria appeared as a recurring character. She was created specifically to counter Beavis and Butt-Head's stupidity. The creator wanted a strong female character for that role. Daria premiered on MTV on March 3, 1997.
