The Dakar Rally is no longer held from Paris to Senegal, but rather throughout South America. It is not a race to be taken lightly, as serious injuries and even fatalities are not uncommon at the event. Since the event’s inauguration, a total of 70 people including 28 competitors have died at the Dakar Rally. Many of these deaths were to spectators of the event. Due to the harsh and uncontrollable terrain, automobiles have been known to veer off the course
