Interesting fact:

The construction of the Taj Mahal began in 1631 – it took 22 years to build. It was built by the Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan for his wife, Mumtaz Mahal. Mumtaz was a Muslim Persian princess and she and the emperor were very much in life. She died in 1631 during the birth of her 14th child and the Shah was consumed by grief. He decided to create a mausoleum in her memory – it took 22,000 laborers and 1,000 elephants to build it. It is made out of entirely white marble and considered to be one of the Seven Wonders of the World.
