Interesting fact:
The oldest Valentine message in the world is kept in the British Museum in London. The French Duke of Orleans was captured during the battle of Agincourt and kept hostage by the English in London for 25 years. He spent his years whiling away the time by writing poetry. On Valentine’s Day in 1415 he sent his wife a message, ‘I am already sick of love, my very gentle Valentine’. Tragically, the poor Duchess died before the Duke was released and never received any of the 60 love poems he wrote to her.
