Interesting fact:

Not only were Ian Fleming’s James Bond novels inspired by the world of espionage, they in turn had quite an impact on the world of spies. Fleming was a good friend of CIA director Allen Dulles, who remembers the novelist complaining that all of the CIA’s gadgets were much too boring. As it so happens, the CIA later borrowed from Fleming’s books in making homing devices and even shoe-daggers!
