The public was introduced to Jane Goodall via “Miss Goodall and the Wild Chimpanzees”, first broadcast on American television on December 22, 1965. It was filmed by her first husband, and narrated by Orson Welles. The documentary showed a determined young English woman patiently watching these chimpanzees in their natural habitat.
