In the 1960s, one of the Omaha Zoo’s residents was the orangutan, Fu Manchu. Fu managed to escape his enclosure several times by picking the lock with a key he had fashioned from a piece of wire. The escape artist even hid the lock pick in his mouth, thus fooling the zookeepers for weeks.
