Pedro Flores, a Filipino American, opened up a toy factory in California in the 1920s and was the first person to manufacture modern yo-yos! The toy became a hit and soon afterwards, Donald Duncan bought Flores's company and started making 3,600 yo-yos a year in the town of Luck, Wisconsin!
