The first photo to capture a person was taken in 1828, when Louis Daguerre snapped a photo of the Boulevard du Temple in Paris and caught a man who was getting his shoes polished. The exposure lasted for seven minutes, and during that entire time, the unsuspecting man stood still enough to be clearly depicted when the photo was later developed.
