Interesting fact:

Independence Day didn’t technically occur on the 4th of July. Congress actually voted to separate the U.S. from British rule on July 2nd. However, on the Fourth of July, John Hancock penned the first signature on the Declaration of Independence. Fifty-six men signed the document in the end, and the U.S. was born.
