Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart had an incredible memory. He was able to transcribe a piece of music composed by the Italian composer Gregorio Allegri entirely from memory after hearing the piece just once when he was fourteen years old. Pope Clement XIV, so impressed with Mozart’s feat, awarded the composer the Chivalric Order of the Golden Spur.
