Interesting fact:

Heart-shaped candies, known more commonly as "sweethearts candies", actually started out as lozenges. The creator of lozenges, Oliver Chase, had a brother who came up with the bright idea to print romantic messages on the candy in 1866. They then got their heart shape in 1901.
